Creating a website is more than putting photos and copy on a page and then crossing your fingers in hopes it will “work.” Zondervan partnered with Klos Creative to redesign their official NIV Bible website. The goal was to create a better user experience with easy to read text, better organization of content and a fresh look. This is our pick of the two concepts provided to Zondervan.

Zondervan’s Textbook Plus website connects professors and students to a whole new textbook experience than most of us have ever imagined back in our school days. Professors can request a copy of a textbook, adopt it as the classroom’s book, access tools to teach materials to the class and online quizzes. Students can purchase the recommended books and related materials, access the ebook versions online, and view other study related materials. Klos Creative chose a bright—but not too bold—color palette when designing Textbook Plus’ logo and website. It’s always a fun challenge to design a page that is rich in content, but keeping it clean and easy to use. Be sure to check out the design for the product detail page above.

It has been many years since Bible Gateway has had a major visual update. This amazing Bible reference tool needed to appeal to a scholar, the average user, and everyone in between. A splash of color, good use of white space and organization helps the visual flow of the page and makes it easier to read. Bible Gateway’s new site was introduced as a Beta version to allow users to ease in to the new design as well as slowly introduce changes so not to abruptly change the way people use the site today.

For their 15th anniversary, Preferred Billing Associates wanted to freshen up their existing brand. The diamonds and arrows in their original logo were redesigned into an arrow made up of dots and grew from a one-color to a three-color logo. PBA moved away from lifestyle photography in favor of a 3D rendering of clay-like figures. Take a look at how Klos Creative was able to assist PBA with the redesign of their logo, website and postcard campaign.

Klos Creative co-owner, Ryan Klos, runs his own portrait photography business specializing in senior high school portraits and newborns. We designed his logo to be clean, yet professional, and his website to be simple and feature photos as the hero on each page. Calumet Photographic is an international reseller of photo equipment and rentals. With stores located in the United States, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain along with a strong web presence, their customer base is far reaching. In 2007 Calumet updated its branding. Klos Creative worked to carry that brand online with a brand new website featuring a learning center and an online community section in addition to e-commerce. Calumet also began an HTML email campaign in four languages. Klos Creative designed, coded and wrote the weekly emails for all four countries. Klos Creative also wrote multiple product reviews featured on Calumet’s website.

To fit with their online marketing and multi-channel retailing services, e-motiontek was in need of a website that featured a clean and simple web 2.0 look. Klos Creative was able to work with e-motiontek to create and code their website and design business cards.

Digibug’s branding needed a “serious” rebrand. What started out as a cute little ladybug, transformed in to a strong identity to attract serious and professional photographers to sell their photo prints through Digibug. Klos Creative designed, wrote copy and shot photography for their new site, and designed a new more professional logo.

McBride Music Company has been repairing musical instruments since 1963. When business owner, Phil McBride, contacted Klos Creative to build a website and design his business cards we were in for a treat. Seriously. Phil makes some delicious oatmeal raisin cookies. We also got a tour of his workshop and learned a thing or two about repairing musical instruments. We designed McBride’s website with a classic style and straightforward layout. In all, Klos Creative provided a new logo, custom photography, design, copywriting and SEO for the site, and van graphics for the McBride Music Company delivery van.
